On Thursday Belfairs Ladies were entertained by their Lady Captain – Simone McCarthy for the Day. The weather
was excellent, after the ladies had finished their round they were given lunch prepared by the Lady Captain. 24 ladies took part in the day with June Woollard winning the captains prize, Joan Smith Presidents Prize (best gross), Hazel Webber, winning the Captains Prize, special mention must go the next prize winner Pat Pace who in only her 2nd year of playing golf did extremely well in very difficult course conditions. Other winners include Best front 9 – Christine Berry, Best Back 9 – Linda Wellham. Nearest the Pin on the 10th Gloria Goldring, Longest Drive on the 11th Joan Smith and best par 3’s – Jackie Wilkinson.. In the afternoon the ladies paired up with the men and played a mixed Greensomes stableford over 13 holes - 1st Hazel Webber and Tony Fagg on count back from Lorna Steel and Bob Whale, 3rd Gloria Goldring and Alan Gribbon.
