Mick Edmunds warmed up for next weekends Stroke Play Championship by winning both Belfairs GC Stableford Competitions at the weekend.

On Saturday Edmunds was in sparkling form as the 4 handicapper amassed 42 points while scoring a gross 68 to win the event by 8 points from Trevor Innard (14) who came second with 34 points. Harry Burke (14) was third with 32 points.

Edmunds added to Saturday’s success by again comfortably winning Sunday’s competition with 37 points while 28 handicapper, Kevyn Steel was 5 points adrift with a battling 32. Steve Bucke (20) was the best of the rest with 29 points.

In the Leslie Wood Plate the club put up a tremendous display against Epping only to be beaten by the narrowest of margins 5 and a half to 4 and a half points in a very exciting contest.
