There was a disappointing turnout, perhaps through the extremely hot conditions or the state of the course that is very barren in many places as the club held their 36 hole Southgate Browne Cleek competition.

Alan Elliott was able to cash in on the small field as his excellent first round net 66 from his 12 handicap meant that all he needed was a steady second round and he achieved that with a nett 72 to take the main prize.

Alan Berry rued missing seversl short putts as he could only muster a nett 75 in the first round. However Berry (14) was in great form in the second round and hit a superb nett 67 to take second spot. Andrew Nash (7) with nett scores of 69 and 74 was good enough to take third spot.

This weekend sees the Club in the third round of the NAPGC Clapham Common Shield and the following day the Kindred Shield Finals.
