Sunday 19th July 2026 will be remembered as one of the most significant days in the history of Belfairs Golf Club, as members came together to celebrate both Captain Jon Stannard's Captain's Day and the 100th anniversary of the Club's formation.

One hundred years to the day since Belfairs Golf Club was officially established in 1926, the course and clubhouse were alive with celebration, creating a fitting tribute to a century of golfing tradition, friendship and community.

Captain Jon Stannard chose to make the occasion even more special by incorporating a centenary-themed feature into the day's events. Members had the unique opportunity to play the course using its original 1926 layout, providing a fascinating glimpse into how Belfairs was first experienced by the Club's founding members.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, refreshments were available at the halfway point, where players could pause to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat before continuing their round. The course was dry and fast, but the testing conditions did not deter from making the day enjoyable for members of all abilities.

Following the golf, members gathered in the clubhouse for an afternoon of celebration. A fine lunch was followed by the presentation of prizes, recognising the day's performances.

Congratulations go to Nick Rendle for an outstanding round to take the Captain's Prize and to each of the other winners.

Captain Jon thanked everyone who had contributed to making the day such a success and whose support ensured the celebrations ran so smoothly.

The occasion perfectly reflected everything Belfairs Golf Club has stood for over the past century—competitive golf, lasting friendships, and a welcoming club spirit. It was a celebration not only of Captain Jon's year in office but also of the generations of members who have helped shape the Club since its formation in July 1926.
