The Winter Singles competition reached its conclusion on Saturday as Chris Shawyer beat Ray Jones 3&2 in the final. In a closely fought match Jones pulled back a two hole deficit to be all square at the 13th, but Shawyer responded to win the next three holes and secure victory on the 16th green.

In the weekend single stableford competitions, Derek Way (37 points) continued his current fine form to record another victory on Friday, beating the consistent Neil Arends (36) into second place and David Watson (34) into third.

Andrew Nash (38) made up for recent near-misses to take Sunday's event, comfortablywinning from runner-up Tony Hayes (36) and thrid placed Hugh Brown (34)
