Wednesday, July 24th, was a red-letter day for Belfairs. A surprise lunch was held for Harry Smith, who will shortly be moving away from the area to be closer to his wife’s family. 

The turnout was fantastic and for once Harry was lost for words as the assembled mid-weekers, weekenders, and lady members greeted him. 

Many thanks to Belfairs Golf Club for Harry’s special gift, a pair of engraved whisky tumblers, and to all members who contributed towards the buffet and other gifts for Harry and his wife Diane: a bottle of single malt whisky, a bottle of wine and an M&S voucher.

All who attended made it a very memorable day as did those who helped arrange the event and organise the gifts, food, and bar. 

Harry has been a club member for thirty years and will be greatly missed.  I’m sure we all wish him and Diane well for the future.
