The Spring showdown for the Roger Foreman Trophy, between Belfairs and Southend Golf Clubs, took on a special two-day format this year as part of Belfairs’ centenary celebrations.

Belfairs set the tone early, charging to a 9–4 lead in Saturday’s four-balls. However, Sunday’s singles delivered high drama, with the 32 matches ending deadlocked at 16–16. But when it mattered most, Belfairs held their nerve to seal a 25–20 overall victory.

Played, as ever, in great spirit, the weekend was a superb advert for both clubs: competitive, close, and thoroughly enjoyable.
