Andrea's Christmas Evening took place on Thursday, December 19th, and was a huge success, with an excellent turnout. The event was a delightful blend of singing, games, and festive fun, ensuring that everyone had a memorable time.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Andrea for her incredible efforts in organizing such a wonderful evening.
The committee would also like to express their gratitude to all the ladies who generously contributed items for the three hampers that were raffled off. A special mention to Christine for creating the stunning Christmas cake that added a personal touch to the celebrations.
Thanks to the generosity of all involved, the evening raised a fantastic total of £410 for our Charities.
Burns Night
On January 24th, we celebrated Burns Night in style. After the traditional piping in of the haggis, members were treated to a delicious starter of cock-a-leekie soup, followed by the classic haggis, neeps, and tatties. For dessert, guests had the choice of clootie dumpling or tipsy laird.
Captain Steve Tucker and his family provided both the food and service for the evening, but the true highlight was seeing so many members enjoying themselves and embracing the spirit of the celebration. It was a truly memorable night!
Darts Night
January 31st marked our unforgettable Darts Night! What was originally planned as an evening for the Vets What turned into a fantastic evening with over 45 participants joining in the fun. The event was played in a pairs format and produced some impressive dart throwing.
But the highlight of the evening was traditional pie and mash, accompanied (by some) with generous amounts of alcohol.
Congratulations to eventual winners John and Meghan, who fought off the spirited challenge of Frank and Billy in the final.
Mark O’Brien put in a tremendous effort in organising the evening and thanks go to his team of helpers for ensuring everyone had a night to remember.
