A recent golf day organised by club member Tony Ball raised over £1000 in support of Tony’s daughter Caroline, who competed in the London Marathon for the Ambitious About Autism Charity
Postponed in March due to heavy rain, the rearranged event was blessed with fine weather and the 28 competitors produced a close finish with the first three player all on 35 points and the result being decided on countback. Ian Hart  was the eventual winner from runner-up Chris Shawyer and third placed Frank Howroyd.
Ambitious About Autism is the national charity standing for autistic children and young people. The charity has become a movement for change: championing rights and creating opportunities.
Caroline, who completed the race in under 5½ hours, raised £4000 of which Belfairs members contributed £1085.
Congratulations Caroline and well done Tony for organising a great day!

After a long lay off due to bad weather and course closure, Belfairs start to the new season has been disappointing.
In the Norman Plum Trophy, we were defeated by a strong Theydon Bois team, and we lost our opening match to Hartswood in the Jubilee Cup.
The home event of the Roger Foreman Cup saw Belfairs fare no better against Southend who took the honours and bragging rights with a very creditable 10½ - 5½ victory.
With their scheduled opener against Hartswood postponed, Belfairs veterans visited Mardyke Valley for their first match and encountered both terrible weather and a determined home side to go down 6 - 2.
