WINTER PAIRS FINAL, VETERANS CUP & STABLEFORD 3rd April
Saturday saw the final of the Dobres Winter Pairs and it was Jon Howley and Ray Jones who took the spoils beating Nigel Warder and Peter Mahoney 3&2. In a closely fought contest with several birdies being made, Howley and Jones were never headed and so continue their fine record in this competition.
Simon Lawrence may be Belfairs newest member but he quickly opened his account by winning the weekend Stableford competition. In a small but competitive field, Simon's 38 points just shaded the in-form Richard Mounsey and third placed Steve Tucker.
